Finally, I've found a way to combine my love for court interpreting with my love for teaching. My fellow court interpreters have always told me that they can always count on my to provide a link or reference for any question they send my way--a natural expression of the teacher inside. From tutoring my own classmates in Spanish during college, to providing customized business English training for managers in a major multinational tech company, to teaching university-level English courses for international students: I admit it, everyone who told me "you should be a teacher" was right.

I am a Master Licensed Court in Interpreter (TX) and ATA Certified Translator with more than seven years of professional interpreting experience.

Yes. JBCC has approved this course and the certificate of completion you receive can be submitted along with your other application materials.
Will this course prepare me for the court interpreting exams?
This is not a test preparation course. The purpose of the orientation is to provide an introduction to the modes of interpreting, the court interpreting profession, and the licensing process. You will, however, get an overview of the licensing exams so you can get an idea of your readiness for the exams. We will be rolling out intensive online test preparation courses later in 2016.
